Re: what is Alzheimer

Dementia occurs frequently in the elderly, but can also affect younger adults, but is rare. If the condition begins before the age of 65 years called presenile dementia. The senile type, on the other hand, occurs after 65 years.
Depending on the cause, dementia can be primary or secondary. Primary dementia is found in approximately 80-90 percent of cases and is caused by pathological changes in brain cells or cerebral vessels. Although these changes, apparently secondary dementia, these are the consequence of other diseases. This is true in 10-20 percent of cases.
secondary dementia usually follows the same disease or brain tumors, multiple head injuries can lead to subdural hematoma (accumulation of blood in the skull). A pair of boxers have died because of this. Unrecognized infection can also cause secondary dementia. Previously, the offender here syphilis, but now all eyes are on Borreliosis

Re: what is Alzheimer

As with anything, if we can identify the "cause" of this, we can then have more success preventing it.

Re: what is Alzheimer

I have recently read some research that methanol - found in aspartame of course - has been linked to alzheimers.
