achy legs- from aspartame?

Hi!

First, I´m very happy I found this site, and Im now on day three on detoxing from aspartame. To  make a long story short; I have been struggling with major health problems the last years, and its just escalating. Anxiety, chronic fatigue, weak achy legs (especially in thighs), blood pressure issues, pounding heart/tachycardia etc. I have been a diet coke drinker for years, and I suspect the aspartame and also  the caffeine as well to be the reason for my problems. I will at least give detox a try. So, I only have a couple of questions for Janet Hulll or others who can answer this:)

Can my symptoms come from aspartame poisioning only? I find it sometimes hard to believe, as they are so spesific. I mean, can both my thighs ache, and other muscles are feeling good? I guess it has to do with poor circulation, and I try to do strenghtening exercise, but they only ace more. Like they are very tired and achy, and have run a marathon. Walking up a flight of stairs or two is a nightmare. I also get a very heavy, pounding heart. I have to say that I have been to doctors, nothing was found, and they all relate it to stress and anxiety/ or CFS. Im also on betablocker, to reduce my symptoms, and I ahve suspect them to be the reason as well, but I didnt react to ten the first years I was on them. I was able to exercise and felt pretty good.

Also, is it normal to feel worse the first days of detoxing? It feels as if my body is aching and really craving for something sweet and especially the diet coke:/ I have been drinking a glass or two of regular coke these days, is that very bad?

Thanks again for your support! I am really thankful:)

Re: achy legs- from aspartame?

Villen, will you do me a favor, please? Will you read a copy of my book, Sweet Poison? You will find ALL your answers within my story, and you will also feel like you are reading about yourself!  So many people are reacting in these same ways, and your post sounds like my book because so much of this happened to me.

Advertisers convince us to be afraid of real foods, and that diet products are the only way to go. How far we have gotten off the natural track, and sadly we are raising a generation of children who know too little about nutrition.

Get back to eating and drinking healthy, natural foods and drinks, enjoy your life, and enjoy your foods.

My best answers to you are in my book - you really need to read it because my story is your story, too!

Re: achy legs- from aspartame?

I am just starting your book. Arrived yesterday and very informative. Hopefully it will help me. I've blamed everything on fibromyalgia but now I believe that it could be the enormous amounts of aspartame that I consume daily. Being addicted to it is terrible. Having a hard time getting rid of it. My husband has been concerned for a couple of years and we fight constantly about it. Now I may have to tell him that he is correct!! Because of the pain I have also used Percocet to help rid myself of pain. After a knee replacement I felt better with that med. So now, hopefully I can rid myself of both of these horrible habits. Thank you so much for the book. Will continue reading it today. It is written in such a manner that I can read it and enjoy every page. My supposed ADD (? Aspartame induced?) has kept me from reading very much lately but the manner in which it was written has been a breath of fresh air for me. Thanks again!!

Re: achy legs- from aspartame?

HAHAHAHA! Give in girl and let your wonderful, caring hubby now that yes, he was correct!!! He must love you dearly to have been so concerned.

Yes, fibro is merely a reaction - a symptom - to a cause. The medical community does not dig deep enough to uncover the cause of these health syndromes. Hence, you never get rid of them because the cause is never identified or removed.

Thank you for the kind book review. THAT means a lot to any author!
