Re: Self-Healing - Tips On How To Succeed

Age 59, newly diagnosed with something I can't even pronounce! Dermatomyositis. I started with rash in Feb and in June doctors thought I had Lupus. I am now being seen at University of Louisville in Kentucky and scared! Any info would be most appreciated. I am on high doses of Prednisone, losing my hair, but my husband is still making sure I laugh, so that is a good thing!

Re: Self-Healing - Tips On How To Succeed

Farkle: please never give up staying in charge of your challenging situation. This is your personal journey, and no one can live it for you. Take the information the doctors provide you as one piece of a much larger puzzle. Continue to search for the answers to WHY this is happening to you, and research, research research until you feel you have left no stone unturned. Then, and only then, make a decision about what you do next. Far too many people give away their personal power to the medical community to "fix" their problems for them. No one has the power to do this for you other than yourself. Take all the tools available to you, medical tools, spiritual tools, alternative nutritional tools, etc, and orchestrate them to the perfect solution for your situation. Everyone is different, every disease is different, and every solution is personal.

And beware of the Prednisone!  This steroid is not meant to be used longterm and it can lower your insulin levels and raise your blood sugar. So, carefully monitor how you react to this medication.
