Drinking alcohol during early pregnancy may lead to cell development disorders. When a pregnant woman drinks it, it rapidly goes into the blood stream and directly affects fetus by entering through placenta. If alcohol is being consumed heavily during pregnancy then it might damage the developing cells of the baby permanently. This will cause effect on formation of baby’s organs, face, and brain. The nervous system of the baby gets damaged badly. The term that is coined for all of the problems linked with drinking alcohol is fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).
