Re: Q & A with Dr. Hull - September 2008
My wife is 36 years old and has been having severe leg cramps at night lately and has low sexual libido for a long time and it seems to be getting worse. She drinks a bottle of Diet Dew each day (which is actually less than before). I believe the aspartame is most likely causing the leg cramps, but is it also causing the low libido? She has been on antidepressants for many years and I know they affect the libido, but it's really bad now and she says she can't even orgasm. Is the aspartame the cause of all of these symptoms, and if so how do get her to realize that she needs to give up the Diet Dew? PLEASE HELP!!!! I asked these questions in another forum because I'm looking for some quick answers!!

What could it hurt by giving up the Diet Dew for a week? Make a deal for her to give it up for a week and see how she feels. She should feel better and perhaps her sexual drive will come back too. Aspartame is definitely the cause. I was a regular diet Coke drinker. After reading all the info on this site and in Dr. Hull's Detox Program Book, I quit cold turkey. It was all I needed to kick the habit. I have absolutely no desire to ever have a diet Coke again, or any other product containing artificial sweetners! Good luck to you and your wife.

Re: Q & A with Dr. Hull - September 2008
klock, you are looking for answers in the right places, and that means you will find them! But your wife needs to want these answers, too.
YES, aspartame will kill the libido in both men and women. Think about this - after 20 years of aspartame use, we now have ads for ED meds on every mainstream TV station showing sexually frustrated people sitting in bathtubs holding hands - isn't that a Cialis commercial? Geeze, I can hear that awful music ringing in my head....Why are they in two different bathtubs is my question? OK, back to the Forum....
The same corporations that make these toxic sweeteners are the corporations that make the drugs to counteract the side-effects of these diet sweeteners. Hummm, they make money from consumers coming and going, don't they? And anytime you mention 1) hair loss, 2) weight gain, and 3) sexual dysfunction, well... name your price.....people will pay it. But, people take these meds with a diet cola! GOT CHA'!
If your wife were to just step outside of her personal box (her immediate life) and look at the lifestyle she has created with that Diet Dew in her hand, and then observe why she can't "feel" anything - well, just look outside the box!
I suggest that we start from Step #1 with your wife - we remove all food chemicals, detox her from the poisons, restore her depleted nutrients that the chemical foods rob from the body, and get her to exercise at least 4 times a week, then we can restore her self-esteem, motivate her to enjoy life again, and then see if a simple touch and hug might get her going.
There may be more insecurities looming under her diet cola addiction; if she is not willing to do something positive for herself, then this may be the reality. But, does she realize that she has a caring and concerned spouse? This might be the place to begin new communications!
