A Case of Aspartame Poisoning... pickled ginger alert!

Hello, I registered just for this report. I hope people will realize just what a poison Aspartame really is.

Normally my digestive system is made of cast iron. Yesterday about 3PM I had a home-cooked meal, OK so it was a little salty. In the evening I sat outside in the cold and got a severe headache. Couldn't warm up, shivers and cold sweats, mental confusion and shooting stars in my eyes. Reallyweird stuff I had never experienced before.

I thought I was just tired or ate too much salt, went to bed early. Agitated, everything hurt couldn't sleep. 5 hours later about 1AM stomach felt queasy. Made it outside just in time for severe vomiting. Really violent contractions. Felt better immediately, headache subsided, went to sleep and woke up felt better.

Outside in the sunlight examined my vomit what did I see? My entire meal had been digested except for the pickled ginger which I vomited.  You know, the pink slices. Looked at the jar, ingredients include Aspartame.

Searched internet and discovered Astartame is a neurotoxin, which I knew anyway. Well, that mistake won't happen again! MUST read the labels! My friend however, ate the same meal and had no bad effects. So it only affected me, who is especially sensitive.

So reconstructing what happened, probably the excess salt aggravated the Aspartame toxicity by further elevating cerebrospinal fluid pressure. I also read somewhere that aspartic acid regulates body temperature among other things, so getting cold may have further aggravated the symptoms.

So anyway, lesson learned and I hope others take it seriously. This chemical should be outlawed as a food product.

Great post. Pickled ginger, huh?  They don't miss a beat, do they?

Personally, I feel that when you have such a severe and quick reaction to aspartame's poisons, this is a sign that your body is really healthy. What does any healthy body do when it ingests poison? It throws it up. It surely doesn't digest it and send it throughout the bloodstream.

Thank your body, Gnarlodious, for doing exactly what it should do - get the toxins out ASAP.

Thank you, body. LOL.

After several days of pondering I have come to the conclusion that my (our) stomachs have a separate and autonomous brain. This brain has complete control over our visceral organs, and completely surrendering to it may save our lives.

For those who compulsively abuse their gut organs, it is the enemy that spoils every self-indulgent episode. The authoritarian adult who says "NO, you can't eat that!" and "Now I'm gonna punish you". They may even describe it as "The Devil", or use Freudian/Jungian terms. In fact, I can see how our consumption oriented culture has vilified our visceral brain and taught us to fight against it.

You could probably even make the case that our externalized God vs. Satan religious systems are derived from this basic biological separation of labor between our head and our visceral processor.

Just a few trancendental thoughts.

Modern humans have a very long way to go concerning so many modern health issues. We are not moving forward, I fear, but slipping backward, and fast.
